Maremoto
We teamed up with Maremoto to create an innovative bilingual platform that bridges the gap between Spanish-language Wikipedia articles and reproductive justice experts and organizers. Together, we mapped out the strategy and UX design, beta-tested, and brought ClanDi to life - an online community platform that makes editing Spanish Wiki articles easier to access and edit.
Community Design Sprint
We joined Maremoto for a design sprint where community and Wiki experts led the vision, naming, and branding of Clandi. We gathered insights and needs, learned more about what it would take to close content gaps, grow Spanish Wiki articles on health and reproductive justice, define the platform’s core users, and target audience.
Before launch, we ran a beta testing period with partner organizations, gathering real input on usability, navigation, and accessibility. That shaped the final round of refinements, making sure what the launched platform matched the vision of the design sprint.
Community Hub
Neta designed and developed ClanDi, a WordPress-powered platform with a bilingual interface, user registration, member profiles, and a community directory that make it easy for advocates to find and connect with one another. The hub gives reproductive justice organizers and wiki experts a dedicated space to show up, engage, and build relationships across movements, with accessibility built in from the start.
Content Gap Tracking
At the heart of ClanDi is a custom-built editing system. Members can browse a curated catalog of priority Wikipedia articles related to reproductive justice, filter by topic area, language, priority level, and task type, then claim and track their contributions. Each entry includes status metadata, improvement notes, and direct links, turning an expanding list of content gaps into a clear, manageable community project.
Bilingual Content Infrastructure
Creating a seamless Spanish- and English-language platform was a top priority for Clandi. We integrated plug-ins and manually edited Spanish content to ensure platform community members can use the platform as intended.
Gamification & Engagement
On top of making sure ClanDi was a place to build an online community and edit Wiki articles, we also wanted to make sure it was engaging, fun, and a true representation of the incredible offline community it serves.
We integrated GamiPress so members earn points each time they contribute, whether that's claiming a content gap, completing an article update, or supporting a fellow member through onboarding. Points appear on member dashboards, making individual contributions visible and celebrated.
ClanDi was built on a clear vision: a platform where reproductive justice communities own the narrative, fill gaps in Spanish-language Wikipedia, and build the knowledge base their movement deserves.
