Neta Collab and Aquí Se Vota, a campaign run by Instituto, worked together to launch a voter engagement campaign to support first-time Spanish-Speaking Latinos in Arizona to vote.

Why is this campaign important?

In the 2018 midterm election, about 11.7 million of the 29 million eligible Latino voters turned out, according to the Pew Research Center.” - The Dallas Morning News.

The majority of voter outreach does not prioritize Latino voters, and the technicality of how to register and vote, especially for first-time voters, can dissuade engagement.

The Aquí Se Vota campaign allowed us to speak directly to voters, supporting their needs to ensure they have what they need to vote.

Project Objectives

  • Reach Spanish-first Latino voters

  • Ensure Spanish-speaking voters have the information they need to register and vote

  • Provide hands-on support to voters to guide them through the process

Challenge:

First-time voters, especially those whose first language is not English, often need support to understand how to register and vote.

Solution:

We set up and managed FaceBook Messenger Ads that led voters directly to our Spanish-speaking support team.

Our team responded to their messages on Facebook. We were able to answer questions on where to register to vote, how to vote, and how to vote by mail.

We created a variety of video content for the ads and social media accounts, including videos featuring influencers and celebrities.

Our goal for these videos was for them to be casual and easy to engage with.

Our Impact

Our Facebook Messenger ads provides hands-on support to voters in Arizona.

We designed custom sticker packs to send to the Aquí Se Vota community.

These were printed and mailed, and they were utilized through Giphy for Instagram stickers.
