Neta Collab and LOUD For Tomorrow worked together to develop materials for a music festival focused on civic engagement.

Why are civic engagement events like this important?

Young Latinx voters represent a rapidly growing and influential demographic in the U.S. electorate, yet they often face barriers to civic participation. According to the Pew Research Center, Latinos are the youngest major racial or ethnic group in the United States, with a median age of 30 years old in 2019.

Despite their growing numbers, young Latinx voters have historically had lower turnout rates than other demographic groups. The U.S. Census Bureau reported that in the 2020 presidential election, only 48% of eligible Hispanic voters aged 18-29 cast ballots, compared to 55% of young voters overall.

Traditional voter outreach methods often fail to resonate with young Latinx voters, who may feel disconnected from the political process or lack information about how to participate. By combining civic engagement with a music festival featuring recognized Latinx artists, LOUD For Tomorrow creates a unique and culturally relevant platform

Project Objectives

  • Meet young Latinx voters where they are in an environment that feels authentic and engaging.

  • Break down barriers to voter registration and participation in a fun, accessible way.

  • Provide exposure to community organizations, fostering a sense of civic responsibility and community involvement.

  • Celebrate Latinx culture and empower young voters to recognize their collective voice in shaping their communities and the nation.

We developed a consistent design for the festival, including designing flyers, merch, social media posts, and a bus wrap.

Challenge:

Engaging young Latinx voters in civic participation has historically been difficult due to a lack of culturally relevant outreach and barriers to political involvement.

Solution:

Neta Collab's comprehensive services, including bus wrap and flyer designs, merchandise creation, creative direction, and event strategy, were vital in transforming LOUD For Tomorrow's concept into a visually striking and culturally resonant music festival. This multifaceted approach, combined with targeted event marketing, created an accessible, entertaining environment that naturally encouraged civic participation among young Latinx attendees.
