Máxima Guerrero was born in Morelos, MX, and is based on occupied O’odham territory (Phoenix, AZ). For over a decade, Máxima has organized and led social justice campaigns and advocacy on the issues of migration and crimmigration, with a focus on the intersection of the immigration and criminal justice systems.

With experience advocating for the passage of the DREAM Act, ousting infamous politicians out of office in Arizona, and leading a successful campaign against the school to prison pipeline, Máxima prioritizes her advocacy and power of narrative to create a world of liberation and human rights for all people.

Ambar is passionate about growing political power through genuine community engagement, working with Latinx (especially immigrant and Spanish speaking communities), amplifying creative voices in the advocacy space, and empowering organizations authentically by advancing community leaders first.
